Transition to Ninth Grade Event

The SRMS PTA will be hosting a transition to ninth grade event for eighth-grade parents. Come hear from current high school parents and students. This will be a great opportunity to ask questions about high school and learn about high school issues. Please note that this event is for parents only! You may submit questions or topics in advance to Scotts Ridge Middle School PTA. Please join us on April 26 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the SRMS LGI! Please check out our transition to ninth grade flyer for more information. We appreciate your participation!

Dr. Matt Bellace at SRMS

Dr. Matt Bellace, motivational speaker and comedian with a Ph.D. in clinical neuropsychology, will meet with our eighth graders on May 21 in an assembly geared towards making the right choices, not only with substances but in life. He promotes the pursuit of natural highs experienced through exercise, healthy activities, and other individual passions. He speaks to over 100,000 adults, middle, high school, and college students annually and according to many of them, his impact is profound and long-lasting.

Additionally, Matt will be hosting a presentation for parents the evening of May 21 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the SRMS Auditorium. The goal of his parent workshop is to help improve the quality of life for both parents and their teens by offering techniques to establish and maintain an argument-free, supportive environment, which focuses on the development of self-control, grit, and resilience. Please feel free to check out our Dr. Matt Bellace flyer. We hope to see you there!

SRMS Testing Schedule

The SRMS testing schedule is now available. We ask that you make every effort to have your child arrive to school on time, well rested, and having had a healthy breakfast. We will not be assigning written homework on testing days. We appreciate your support during the testing administration. For specific dates and times, please take a moment to view the SRMS testing schedule.

Standardized Testing Schedule

This year’s state standardized testing program includes Smarter Balanced Summative Assessment, the SAT, and NGSS Field Test. We are also administering the PSAT 8/9 during the testing window. Students in grades 3-8, as well as grades 9 and 11, are participants in these assessments. Please see our spring standardized testing schedule for testing grades, dates, and windows.
